What's going on with Kim? Ms. Kardashian if you're MAGA...

"She parties with Ivanka Trump and has turned Tesla products into fashion accessories on social media. Assuming these are political statements may be incorrect."
Recently, Jacob Bernstein from the New York Times' speculation arose when he wrote regarding Kim Kardashian's political leanings after she posted photos on Instagram and X posing with a Tesla Cybertruck. Wearing black heels, lace stockings, and a garter belt, Kardashian struck bold poses with Tesla's Optimus robot, seated in the driver’s seat. While her representative stated no payments were received for these posts, the timing raised eyebrows.
Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, has become a prominent supporter of Donald Trump, who recently tapped Musk to co-lead a new government efficiency initiative alongside Vivek Ramaswamy. These connections fueled rumors that Kardashian’s posts signaled political alignment, especially since she has been seen socializing with Ivanka Trump.
The speculation dates back to Kardashian's 2023 birthday party, where a photo showed her alongside Ivanka Trump and Lauren Sánchez, Jeff Bezos’ partner. Ivanka, once a staple of elite social events, faced exclusion from liberal circles after her father’s presidency. Kardashian’s apparent friendliness with her surprised many, given her historically apolitical public image.
Some attribute this connection to Kardashian’s long-standing work in criminal justice reform. In 2018, she lobbied for clemency for Alice Marie Johnson, a woman serving a life sentence for a nonviolent drug offense. Kardashian worked with Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, culminating in a White House meeting with Donald Trump. A week later, Johnson’s sentence was commuted. Kardashian credited the Trump administration for their cooperation, though she declined to endorse Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign, opting instead to remain politically neutral.
Kardashian’s collaboration with Trump extended to other clemency cases, yet Trump expressed disappointment when she later praised President Biden on social media. Trump claimed her neutrality was an attempt to "stay cool in Hollywood," despite his contributions to her criminal justice efforts.
Kardashian has also worked with Vice President Kamala Harris, attending a White House event in 2022 focused on second chances for formerly incarcerated individuals. Sharing photos from the event, she praised bipartisan progress on criminal justice reform, continuing her apolitical stance by avoiding endorsements during the November election.
The recent Tesla photos sparked a wave of reactions online. Some viewed them as subtle support for Musk—and by association, Trump. Comments like “MAGA mommy we see you” and “Tell us who you voted for without saying who you voted for” captured the internet’s mixed reactions.
It’s worth noting that Kardashian’s ties to Trump’s orbit extend beyond the Cybertruck photos. Caitlyn Jenner, a Trump-supporting transgender activist, was once her step-parent, and her ex-husband, Kanye West, has been an outspoken Trump ally. Despite these connections, Kardashian’s personal feelings about Trump remain unclear.
Ultimately, Kardashian’s actions might not signal a political shift but rather strategic alliances for her criminal justice initiatives. Like corporations that donate across party lines, she may simply align with individuals who can advance her cause. For now, her political stance remains as ambiguous as ever.
