The advantages of kissing
Not only does kissing make you feel good, and help to promote intimacy, it also has a few health benefits also.
Reduces blood pressure
A deep and solid kiss gets your hear t pumping, which is a very good thing considering the increased cardiac activity can lower your blood pressure. This intense kissing dilates the blood vessels which allow a proper flow of blood to all the vital organs. This is quoted by Andrèa Demirjian, who is the author of the book “kissing: everything you ever wanted to know about one of life’s sweetest pleasures”
Fewer illnesses
Research has found that woman are able to develop immunity to a virus called cytomegalovirus (HCMV), just by kissing someone who has been exposed to it.
One of the case studies’ authors wrote: “as HCMV exists in salivary gland epithelial cells and sheds from lesions caused by periodontitis, female immunisation with a specific male’s HCMV is most successfully achieved through mouth to mouth contact and saliva exchange. Especially where the flow of saliva is from the male to the typically shorter female.
Fewer Cavities
Another benefit of kissing is the fact that it helps to encourage the production of saliva. When kissing another person the production of saliva increases, which helps to prevent a dry mouth. The increased volume of saliva helps to wash away plaque, which will prevent cavities.
Positive hormones
Bad moods and stress could have a negative impact, even on an otherwise healthy person. Kissing helps in the release of a few positive hormones like serotonin, dopamine and oxytocin. Once these hormones have been released you will feel much more relaxed not so wound up and exhilarated. Much like the feeling you get from exercising.
Burn those calories
And the good news keeps coming. Kissing actually helps to cut calories. This does not mean that you don’t need to visit your gym and get your exercise in, but you can burn about 16 calories every time you are being kissed passionately.
Kissing has great health benefits, and you need a fresh breath to kiss. To achieve fresh breath you need to ensure that your teeth and mouth are always in pristine condition. And you can guarantee this by keeping up a good oral hygiene.
